INTRO TO HS FLAG - PENINSULA

Come learn about the sport of Flag Football from experienced High School coaches!

7v7Flag partners with high school coaches and experienced players to coach female players of all levels - beginners to advanced - to learn flag football and elevate their game. Portions of the proceeds of the camp go to support the Women’s Coaching Alliance, which is on a mission to develop female leaders through coaching youth sports!


What you’ll learn:

Participants will develop fundamental flag football skills through proper techniques, position-specific drills, and game strategies. This (5) day session will start out with rotating position skill work, incorporate partner drills and end with campers learning offensive and defensive plays and scrimmages.


The camp is deal for any incoming 9th grader new to high school looking to try out in the fall, or anyone who hasn’t played flag football before and wants to see if it might be for them. This camp is an incredible opportunity for young female athletes to improve their game, build confidence, and form lasting friendships. More than just football, players will walk away with valuable lessons in teamwork, leadership, and perseverance—on and off the field.

9am-12pm - No lunch provided

Partial scholarships are based on financial need and limited to available resources. You can download a scholarship application here. If you would like to contribute to sending a girl to camp, we would be most grateful. Please reach out.


Check-in:

First day of Camp - Begins 30 min prior to camp start time. Remaining days, check in starts 15 mins prior to the camp start time.


Check-out:

Pick-up happens at the fields.


Equipment Needed:

Athletic Clothing, cleats, water, sunscreen, and a light snack. If you have flag football gloves, feel free to bring them. Flags and footballs will be provided.


Weather:

Camp will run rain or shine.

Camp Coaches

Coach Del Rio - Camp Director

Is a 20-year Educator with a Master's in Educational Psychology and currently serves as Head Coach for Sacred Heart Prep’s Junior Varsity Program. Coach Del Rio is a long-time youth coach and most recently lead Sacred Heart Varsity Girls Soccer team to their 1st Northern California Championship in School History (2025) and CCS Championship (2025). Additionally, he has coached at the collegiate level at Menlo College and Foothill College. He is a full time School Counselor at Sacred Heart Prep.


Coach Mo

Dr. Mo Merritt is an experienced multi-sport coach, mental performance coach, and sport performance professional. She brings a diverse background in athlete development that stems from her current role with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee and her own personal experiences as a collegiate basketball player and former member of the U.S. Women's National Handball Team. Mo is dedicated to fostering young athletes' growth from youth to the elite level. Her expertise in talent development, resilience building, and team culture helps athletes excel both mentally and physically. A Philadelphia native now in the Bay Area, she is passionate about empowering female athletes through sport.


Coach Sandra

Sandra is a passionate advocate for expanding opportunities for youth in sports & making athletics accessible to all. With extensive coaching experience across multiple sports, including high school flag football & soccer, she brings a strong foundation of leadership, enthusiasm & a genuine love & knowledge of the game. Having coached & managed various sports programs for many years, Sandra is committed to using athletics as a platform to teach life lessons & empower young athletes. She is excited to share her expertise at this summer’s camp, where she looks forward to inspiring, challenging & supporting the next generation.


Coach Malloy

Malloy Hester is a dedicated sports professional with extensive coaching experience in the Bay Area. His B.S. in Recreation, Parks, and Management from Chico State allowed him to expand his network in the Bay Area and develop pivotal coaching skills that he would later utilize at Menlo School. For 15 years, Malloy honed his ability to coach within Menlo School's athletic programs, working closely with student-athletes across multiple sports. His commitment to youth athletics has been a hallmark of his professional career, demonstrating a passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field. Currently, Malloy serves as an assistant flag football coach for both the JV and Varsity teams at Sacred Heart Prep. In addition to his football coaching responsibilities, he also supports the JV and Varisty girls basketball program at Sacred Heart Prep. Through his coaching roles, Malloy continues to inspire and mentor young athletes, helping them develop critical skills that extend beyond the playing field. His long-standing commitment to youth sports underscores his dedication to athletic education and student-athlete development.
